“Look for the helpers.”
My interest in people and my desire to help others have been a constant for as long as I can remember. After more than 10 years as a mental health therapist, I still feel genuinely grateful to do work that allows me to connect with people, hear their stories, and support them through the many different seasons of life.
I especially enjoy working with older teens and adults who may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply unsure of what comes next. Sometimes life looks just fine from the outside while things feel very different on the inside. Other times, you know something needs to change but aren't quite sure where to begin. Therapy offers a place to slow down, sort through what's going on, and better understand yourself along the way.
I believe the relationship you have with your therapist matters. My goal is for therapy to feel comfortable and genuine while also being thoughtful and purposeful. You don't need to have the right words or know exactly what you want to work on before getting started. We'll begin wherever you are. I'll listen, ask questions, offer perspective, and help you build on your own strengths while developing practical tools to navigate what's ahead. Most importantly, I want you to feel that you can show up as yourself, without pressure to have everything figured out.
Outside of therapy, I'm usually listening to music, laughing along to a comedy podcast, running or exercising, or spending time in the backyard with my husband, our three full-of-life children, and our laid-back dog, Nash.
